Tara Westover is the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling memoir Educated. Born in Idaho to a survivalist family, she never attended school. Westover spent her days working in her father’s junkyard or stewing herbs for her mother, a self-taught herbalist and midwife. She was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. She then pursued education for the next decade, at Brigham Young University and then at Cambridge, where she was a Gates Fellow and from which she received a PhD in history. According to USA Today, “Tara Westover is living proof that some people are flat-out, boots-always-laced-up indomitable.”
