Marina Keegan ‘12 was an award-winning writer, actress, and activist who died in a car accident five days after graduating magna cum laude from Yale. Her short stories and essays have been collected in The Opposite of Loneliness, a book that Nicholas Kristof has called “a triumph” and the Hartford Courant has called “The ultimate read for Gen Y, by Gen Y.” Marina’s nonfiction writing teacher, Anne Fadiman, will introduce the event and read with two of Marina’s friends, Michael Blume and Rachel Strodel, and Marina’s high school English teacher, Beth McNamara. Marina’s parents, Tracy and Kevin Keegan, will join the readers to answer questions afterward.
