February 19, 2020

This event has been canceled.

FRIDAY, MARCH 27, 1:00-3:00 , LC 209

This critical/creative workshop has two components, led by novelist Catherine Fox and Dr. Ellie Byrne, both Master’s level creative writing instructors in children’s literature. The first part considers the role of the cautionary tale in the canon of writing for children, with special reference to the influence of author Roald Dahl’s fiction on contemporary writing trends. This will set the stage for a creative writing workshop where students will be guided to produce their own cautionary tales.
