Richard Deming is a poet, art critic, and a theorist who works on the philosophy of literature and visual culture. His poems have appeared in such places as The Nation, American Letters and Commentary, and The Iowa Review, as well as Great American Prose Poems: From Poe to the Present. He won the 2012 Berlin Prize and served as John P. Birkelund Fellow at the American Academy in Berlin. He regularly writes for The Boston Review and Artforum. Let’s not Call It Consequence was awarded the Farber Prize by the Poetry Society of America.
