Wed., Oct. 14, 8:00 p.m., Branford Common Room: “Things I Learned from William Zinsser”

William Zinsser was a legendary Yale writing teacher, Branford master, and author of On Writing Well, Writing About Your Life, and sixteen other books. He died last May at age 92. In this celebration of Zinsser’s life, work, and influence, four Zinsser students who went on to distinguished careers in journalism and literature will come to Yale to remember their teacher:

Christopher Buckley, satirical novelist, essayist, memoirist
Jane Mayer, investigative journalist, New Yorker staff writer
Mark Singer, New Yorker staff writer
John Tierney, New York Times columnist

Here is a reminiscence of Zinsser by Mark Singer.
