Joyce Maynard presented by the Francis Conversations with Writers Series and the Traphagen Alumni Speakers Series, Yale College Office of Student Affairs

April 2, 2015

Joyce Maynard is a prolific author of novels, essays, and columns who has been widely read since her freshman year at Yale, when she wrote a cover story for the New York Times Magazine called “An Eighteen-Year-Old Looks Back on Life.” Since that time, she has worked for the New York Times, contributed to NPR and numerous magazines, and written fifteen books, including the novels Where Love Goes, Labor Day, and, most recently, After Her. At Home in the World, a best-selling memoir that recounted her relationship with J.D. Salinger, has been called “brilliant,” “creepy,” “disturbing,” and “dazzling.”
